The Northway Excellence Awards recognise the projects, teams and people making the road network safer, more reliable and more sustainable. The ceremony is a black-tie dinner on the evening of 8 June 2027 at the Midland Exchange Hotel, a short walk from the venue.

- Major Project of the YearSchemes over £50 million completed in 2026.
- Local Highways Project of the YearCouncil-led schemes of any size.
- Innovation in Digital RoadsData, software or connected-vehicle projects in live use.
- Sustainability AwardMeasured reductions in carbon or gains for nature.
- Safety AwardImprovements to the safety of road workers or road users.
- Apprentice of the YearNominated by an employer.
How to enter
Entries open on 1 December 2026 and close on 26 February 2027. Entry is free and organisations may enter up to three categories. Shortlists are announced on 1 April 2027.
Judging
Each category is judged by a panel of three independent experts from authorities, academia and professional bodies. Judges declare any conflict of interest and do not score entries from their own organisation.
Tickets
Dinner tickets cost £225 plus VAT per person or £2,100 plus VAT for a table of ten. Shortlisted entrants receive two free tickets.
